Ein vages Gefuhl des Unbehagens. Thomas Helbig - Victor Man - Helmut Stallaerts

27/01/2013 - 07/04/2013

The exhibition brings together the work of three artists from three European countries: Thomas Helbig (b. 1967, Germany), Victor Man (b.1974, Romania) and Helmut Stallaerts (b. 1982, Belgium). These artists do not belong to the same generation as the age difference between Helbig and Stallaerts is 15 years. What the works of these three artists do have in common, however, is their search for the expression of a vague feeling of discomfort. This makes their oeuvre not easily interpretable but it does testify, in a unique and singular way, of a great imagination and a search for a visual language that is ever expanding in complexity.

This exhibition will combine new and older work and is both the result and the continuation of the research conducted in the context of the making accessible of the Collection Wilfried & Yannicke Cooreman in 2009.
